Plant of the Month Competition

At this month's meeting we held our AGM for which we had a good turn out of members.

Most of the committee remained on but Mr Duncan Burkinshaw stepped down after many years of dedicated hard work. We shall miss him on the committee, and a big thank you must go to him for the work his has done for the branch. A presentation was made to him in recognition of this achievement (see below). We elected Mrs Mairi Frew on to the committee in his place.

After the AGM finished we were shown a set of the society slides on Mammillarias. These were again a bit old but were still enjoyed by the members.

At the A.G.M. a presentation was made to Duncan Burkinshaw by the branch chairman Sam McNair, on the occasion of Duncan's retirement as a committee member in appreciation of his 30 or more years support of the branch and particularly his fund raising by growing and selling plants.
